Installation onto Azure?

    Hi,

we do not have any experience with Azure nor Nami, so we can't give any feedback on that.

    Good news :) It works!

    https://projectnami55b7.azurewebsites.net/

Just a couple of sticky points. I'll leave this info here for anyone else who might encounter these problems

    Using:
    - Microsoft Azure
    - Project Nami (
    http://projectnami.org/download)
    - Brooklyn 4.5.3

First of all, get an Azure account. Then go to the Project Nami site, and tap their 'Deploy to Azure' button: http://projectnami.org/download

This will get your running WordPress on Azure, but with MSSQL, not MySQL. The MySQL is more expensive and currently a beta.

Next I installed Brooklyn, but the zip wouldn't upload in Wordpress. I copied the contents of brooklyn.zip to the themes folder and installed from there.

Brooklyn installed OK but had missing plugins. I worked through these one by one, then hit an error with the Revolution Slider. It installed, then my site and admin showed an error:

Fatal error: Uncaught Exception: ... Invalid column name 'advanced' ... INSERT INTO [wp_lumen_revslider_css] ...

The [advanced] field is missing in [wp_lumen_revslider_css] table.

So I created the field manually called 'advanced' in the table [wp_lumen_revslider_css] with type 'nvarchar(MAX)'

    then...

Fatal error: Uncaught Exception: ... Invalid column name 'type'. ... select * from wp_lumen_revslider_sliders ...

Again I create this field manually, nvarchar(MAX) again.

Now everything looks OK in WP admin :D

Tried to one click install demo 8...got some errors reported to the webpage:

    projectnami55b7.azurewebsites.…hp?page=ut-demo-importer:

Menu item skipped due to missing menu slug
Menu item skipped due to missing menu slug

Failed to import Contact Form “Contact form 1”

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 60 seconds exceeded in D:\home\site\wwwroot\wp-includes\wp-db.php on line 1829

Then read the instructions properly ;)

"You are running a clean WordPress Installation"
"No Pages or Posts are published ( delete the standard posts and pages too )"

I deleted the post, page, and contact form, installed demo 8 again...

    And hey presto - success.
