Page Speed - Sloooow - Especially Mobile

Hi - my Brooklyn site is so sloooooow, about 16/100 on Google speed test for mobile.

Plugins and themes updated, images optimized, server is fast and WP Rocket cache plug in running to try and help...

Can pls input to what issue might be?

I'm having the same problem. Try to disable the portfolio plugin and it will work perfectly. I'm not sure how to fix this but it will be the last theme I buy from United.

Hi,

I'm afraid technically seen you already maxed everything out. The site is loading almost instantly which is very good.

However, you need to understand the nature of these tests.

We are constantly improving the speed, but the theme is not a mobile first solution and every loaded CSS line which is not used on the current site is a downgrade in score, as well as every animation and every image which is placed with responsive CSS.

The only thing you could do is, install wordpress.org/plugins/webp-express/

This will speed up the image loading by 50% and will also shrink the size of all images and you have a bunch to load over the site.

My page is loading slow when I have the plugin activated. I don't even have any images created for it, I removed them all. The plugin is the issue.

I had an WP support person review this also... they suggested the slider was a big factor in speed, true?

Would limiting the animation throughout the site improve mobile speed? (& is there an easy way to try this?)

Hi,

yes the slider can be a factor, it has a lot of dependencies.

Yes that could happen, because the layout does not "shift" so much. Usually modules have options to deactivate the animation on mobiles. Maybe you should start with hose ones, which are directly in viewport when the site is loaded.
